EVACUEES IN MARIKINA REACH 25,000

More than 25,000 residents near the Marikina River were evacuated as the waterway continued to swell from non-stop rains. Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman told ANC on Saturday that the number of evacuees is similar to that of evacuees in September 2009 when tropical storm “Ondoy” hit.

However, de Guzman pointed out that the forced evacuation response improved this time around. He also lauded the resiliency and cooperation of Marikina residents
