ONDOY'S 'TIPS' SPARE MARIKINA FROM DEATHS IN FALCON FLOODS

In September 2009, the Marikina River swelled to a historic level of 23 meters due to storm Ondoy's rains, causing three-meter floods to rush into communities, trapping people in their homes, killing hundreds of them and damaging millions in property.

This week's incessant rains brought by tropical storm Falcon had caused the same river to swell to over 18 meters deep. But no one has been reported killed or missing in Marikina.
