POUND-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao said he is willing to accept the $65-million offer by Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim Helu to fight fast-rising Mexican boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in Mexico.
“It’s a good offer not only to me but also to all the Filipinos as well especially those who need help. With that, I can also expand my service to help my countrymen,” Pacquiao told reporters during a press conference at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Offices (PCSO) in Pasay City yesterday.
“That’s beautiful. I’m hoping my promoter Bob Arum and that Mexican millionaire agreed about that future fight,” Pacquiao added.
Though Pacquiao is willing to take on Alvarez, he must first defend his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against another Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12 in Las Vegas USA.
Pacquiao visited the PCSO to sign an agreement with PCSO Chairman Margarita Juico for the turnover of seven ambulances to the province of Saranggani.
