PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino 3rd apparently thinking that his naming the next Ombudsman would be a breeze hit a snag when two supposedly leading candidates for the post turned out to be both allies of his in the Supreme Court (SC) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).President Aquino’s supposed first choice as the country’s top graftbuster was SC Associate Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales, a founding partner of “The Firm” group of topnotch lawyers.
