Missing Flight MH37′s Pilot Trained in PH

As the world continues to search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH37, it was learned that its pilot, Capt. Zaharie Ahmad Shah, had some flight lessons in the Philippines. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that Shah trained at the Philippine Airlines (PAL) Aviation School in Pasay City between 1980 and 1981. The CAAP said the PAL flying school does its training at the Manila International Airport. Sources said PAL was used to be managed by the government from 1970 until 1992. It can be recalled that Flight MH370 vanished from the radar screens in the early hours of Saturday, March 8, according to Malaysian authorities. It disappeared from radar screens at 1:40 a.m. of March 8. The search operation for the missing plane has recently expanded its scope to the Strait of Malacca, and part of South China Sea to India’s Andaman and Nicobar’s Island on the premise that the plane may have turned its course back before disappearing from radar screens. The search is joined by ten nations and now covered by 43 ships and 39 planes in what is now considered as an ‘unprecedented mystery’ in aviation history.
