MORE GO HUNGRY; SWS SURVEY SAYS MM POSTS 23% HUNGER RATING

hungerOver-all hunger in Metro Manila rose to 23 percent of the population in the capital or 647,000 families, from 13 percent or 366,000 families last June, the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey results showed Thursday.

On a nationwide scale, the number of Filipino families that claimed they experienced “involuntary hunger” the past three months increased to 4.3 million households or a recordhigh 21.5 percent during the Aquino administration, the survey said.
